If Southwest Windpower has its way, owners of even the smallest parcels of land will be buying turbines.
According to an article in Fortune Small Business, the Arizona-based company is rolling out a 45-foot high model for use on home or business sites as small as a half-acre. Old-timers in the wind business will remember that earlier small-scale turbines had less-than-thrilling sales. But Southwest thinks the alternator and blade design of its Beta L8 has solved the poor performance woes of earlier models.
