Four dairy farms in Vermont will collect a total of $666,000 in grants to build generating systems on their land, according to the Burlington Free Press. The money comes from Central Vermont Public Service’s Renewable Development Fund, which was created two years ago to encourage farmers to erect windmills.
I love programs like that, and I see quite a few of them. But what I haven’t seen … at least not yet … are similar incentive programs for nonprofit operations. Imagine, if you will, the possibilities of a grant program that helps schools (such as these) or churches (such as these) place windmills on their property.
Is anyone aware of a grant program like that?
